          Red Leaves - Muskoka Woods
          STEWARDS OF NATURE

Naturalist/astronomer Robin Tapley and environmentalist Hap Wilson have united with Ken Fowler in a collaboration that draws upon a single shared goal: understanding and respect for nature and the environment in Muskoka.

As stewards of the Red Leaves Nature Reserve, Tapley and Wilson have worked to develop an environmental plan for the resort community, which will include exploring alternative energy sources, using reclaimed materials, creating alternative transportation to relieve traffic pollution, as well as other sustainable efforts.

With strict adherence to environmental codes, Tapley and Wilson are currently developing the resort's outdoor recreation programs, and their crew is using locally milled wood and recycled materials, as well as solar power for energy requirements to create an interpretive centre, a maintenance building, a retreat and warm-up shelter, boardwalks and wildlife viewing observation platforms.
